What is the Mountain Cloud Farm CSA?
CSA or Community Supported Agriculture is a way to connect farmers and their local community. Members pay farmers in advance for a box of food each week. Our boxes our customized, so members choose which vegetables they receive each week. If you wanted a full box of carrots or one of everything go for it! We offer a diverse selection of vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers.
What are the benefits for a CSA customer?
Using this system ensures members are guaranteed our fresh produce all season long. Not only will CSA members benefit by having the first pick of our diverse and seasonal produce, we also offer special discounts (see cost of share below). In addition, you can expect that most of your items will have a higher value than you paid for, because in a world where no two vegetables are the same size we will always give our CSA the biggest, juiciest ones.
Is a CSA share right for me?
Our CSA is designed to provide delicious and diverse produce for everyone from individuals to large families throughout the summer and fall months. We have a number of box sizes to cater to all of our members. In the late fall, winter and spring we have an online store that is open to our mailing list to buy produce. When does the CSA start and end?
Our CSA is 22 weeks. The first pick up this year is June 4, the last pick up this year is October 29.
What is the best share size for me?
We offer four box sizes: small, medium, large and the Abundance Box.
Small - 5 points valued at $20/wk. This box is suggested for 1-2 people who want to add some local goodness to their weekly meals.
Medium - 10 points valued at $40/wk. This box is suggested for 2-3 people or individuals who want to source the majority of their weekly produce from Mountain Cloud.
Large - 15 points valued at $60/wk. This is a great box for 3-5 people or anyone who would also like to be making preserves during the season.
Abundance Box - 20 points valued at $80/wk. This is for our epic families who love veggies. We would suggest this box for 4-5 people.
What if you do not want to commit to a whole Farm Share CSA or you're a single person?
Many of our members split shares with friends or family members. Most folks choose to pick up alternating weeks but you could also just split the share each week. You can also visit us at the Sandpoint Farmers Market every week to purchase our yummy veggies.
How much do shares cost and how do I pay for them?
You can can pay with cash or check in three installments due April 1, May 1, and June 4 (the first pick up of the season). RETURNING MEMBERS get 5% off!
The Small Share is $440, paid in three installments of $147
The Medium Share is $880, paid in three installments of $293
The Large Share is $1,320, paid in three installments of $440
The Abundance Box is $1,760, paid in three installments of $587
How do I purchase a share?
Go to our Sign-up page and fill out the form, selecting the options that would be most nourishing for you.
What happens if I'm going out of town and I am unable to pick up my Farm Share CSA?
We understand you may be traveling and not able to pickup your CSA share every week. You can always have friends or family members pick up your share, or you can also keep track of the weeks that you are gone and come to our booth at the Sandpoint Farmers Market on any Saturday and redeem the points that you missed.
